Ada Kok was awarded the Fanny Blankers-Koen Career Award.
At the NOC*NSF Sports Gala in Utrecht, former Futen-swimmer Ada Kok received the Fanny Blankers-Koen Career Award for all her sporting achievements. Ada Kok swam with her sister Gretta at De Futen in the 60s. She became a topswimmer with the butterfly stroke, which started with a European title in the 100 meters in Leipzig in 1962. She was fifteen at the time. At the same tournament she was part of the winning team in the 4×100 meter medley. She achieved her greatest success with Olympic gold in 1968 in Mexico in the 200 meter butterfly.
Ada Kok is an honorary member of De Futen. The board and all members would like to congratulate Ada on this honorable and appropriate award for her services.
